The Emergency Preparedness Trailer
SANTALUZ EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN
THE VISION:
In a disaster, the community of Santaluz envisions neighbors helping neighbors and providing a basic infrastructure to assist Santaluz community members as needed.
OBJECTIVES:
1) Encourage community members to be self sufficient by having a minimum of at least
one week’s worth of food/water per household and necessary provisions for go
bags, (See Santaluz Emergency Preparedness manual for details.)
2) Encourage residents to have a plan and means for locating members of their family
or household when separated in a disaster.
3) Maintain a neighborhood network within Santaluz to assist families or individuals in
need.
THE PLAN:
Maintain an ongoing communication network with residents. Santaluz has been divided into 34 neighborhoods (with 17 to 36 homes per neighborhood) and a Neighborhood Coordinator (NC) has been assigned to each neighborhood. The Neighborhood Coordinator is the foundation of the emergency preparedness plan. Neighborhood Coordinators maintain resident information so residents can be reached in case of an emergency. The EPC resident contact information is considered confidential and shall be used only in the event of an emergency, declared by city, county or federal officials.
In case of an emergency, an Emergency Preparedness Team will be activated and residents will be contacted. The Team will further develop a pertinent plan for the emergency. The Team will utilize our mobile EPC trailer, basic medical supplies, and other back-up equipment to assist Santaluz residents.
Be Safe, Be Prepared. Be a part of your community.
